Coldwater Canyon Provisions, founded in 2012 by Rondo Mieczkowski, draws inspiration from years of family inherited Polish recipes. Growing up, Rondo always enjoyed his grandmother’s home-pickled vegetables and freshly canned jams and jellies. Cited as the pioneer jam of Coldwater Canyon Provisions, Strawberry Rhubarb is Rondo’s best-seller and won Best in Show for all Jams & Jellies at the California State Fair. After winning this title, Rondo decided that perhaps it was worth sharing his childhood love for his grandmother’s recipes with the rest of the world. Other popular products include his Pickled Watermelon Rinds, Spiced Crab Apples, and Pickled Cherries, which won the Good Food Award. In addition to the many customer-loved flavors, Rondo also takes requests for special, new flavors!
All of the products at Coldwater Canyon Provisions are made using produce sourced from family farmers in California and are vegan and gluten-free. While Rondo stays true to the homey taste of his grandmother’s recipes, he’s adapted to healthier ingredients, cutting down on sugar and sticking to sustainably grown ingredients. In addition to creating delicious jams and pickled vegetables, Rondo seeks to promote sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles by using Eco-Tensils at the farmers markets.
Coldwater Canyon Provisions has been listed in LA Weekly as one of the Top Ten Artisan Food Makers and featured in Time Out Magazine.
